평안하십니까? 영국 글라스고 교회의 목사 김철웅입니다. 특별히 글라스고 가정교회 식구님들꼐 평안의 인사를 드리고 싶습니다.

전 여러분들의 기도와 관심으로 은혜가운데 목회 사역과 복음전파의 사역을 현재까진 잘 감당 하고 있으며 그간 조금의 힘든일이 있었지만 그일 역시 은혜가운데 잘지나고 이제 미스바 40일 회개기도 작전도 거의 마무리 하는시점에 가벼운 마음으로 안부를 전합니다.

사랑하는 글라스고 목원 그리고 성도여러분! 전 개인적으론 지금까지 브뤼셀 교회에 입은 은혜를 생각하면 무슨말로 감사를 해야 할지 모르겠습니다. 너무 감사를 드립니다. 귀한교회로 늘생각하고 있습니다.


지금 드리는 글은 영어를 잘하기때문에 영어로 쓸려고 한 편지가 아니라 영국에서 현재까지 4년동안 글라스고 교회를 물심양면으로 도와주는 영국 친구 목사와 그교회의 회계집사로 있던 나이젤 집사님께 특별히 개인적으로 스폰스하는 일에 대하여 감사하는 마음과 교회의 현황을 오랜만에 알려드리기 위해 적은 편지입니다.

양해하시고 브뤼셀 교회의 한국분이 아닌 한국분들과 사랑을 나누는 특별히 글라스고 목원들께 조금이나마 글라스고의 현황을 알려드리는게 좋을까싶어 동일한 마음으로 드립니다. 양해해주시기바랍니다. 서투른 영어지만 이해 해 주시리라 믿고 용기내어 적어봅니다.



Dear Friends in Christ

Shalom be with you! We are well owing to your good friendship for my church and family. How are you getting on in Christ? We pray that of the Apostle Paul: that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

First of all
I’d like to share a part of my church working


International Worship
There are about 100 korean people (Mostly University Student) in Glasgow. However, Some Korean women got married to English, Scottish, Irish men. Although They wanted to worship with their wife on Sunday in GKC (Glasgow Korean Church), they would be bored because they would not understand the service with out any translation help. This was during 2004. After I recognised the situation, I started to worship with translation. Nowdays, 3-4 international couples worship on Sunday together.

Cell church
There are 5 Group cell churches in GKC.
Each church supports their concerning and money to their missionary who are working in Africa or Eastern Europe. Although, the church 's majority are student, we wanted to follow Jesus' word. (Act 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
20:36 When he had said this, he knelt down with all of them and prayed.
20:37 They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him.)


We have lived in this ways …

Eun Ji was completed her Third year at her Secondary School. She has three more years to get to her University. Right now she is working for her Standard grade same as GCSE corse.

Su-Ji was completed her first year at Secondary School. She is now moving up to second year and will be also working on her coming exams.

Young Ja has been busy to help GKC ministry along with pastoral care.
She teaches one to one bible study once a week for women congregation. Sometimes she would be very tired due to many visitors coming to our house and she has to take care of them.


Chul Woong Kim has been very busy.
I teach 6 times and sermon once a week.
On Monday, leading for intercession pray meeting for glasgow people who takes drug and for Korea situation, personal problems
Tuesday, Teaching 1 to 1 Bible study for men's congregation.
Wednesday, Evening worship.
Thursday, International Evening bible study including international couples.
Friday, Cell church
Sunday, worship

Please pray for us …
1. Pray that God creates more spiritual thirst among the Glasgow Korean students and within their hearts in the new academic year.
2. Pray that God gives a strong desire to those who accept Christ to be multiplying disciples.
3. Pray for raising support. We need to raise 1,500 pounds every month to live and have ministry in Glasgow (We have raised around 1,100 pounds at the moment).
4. Pray that Chul Woong and Young Ja can speak English more fluently to share their faith without much difficulty.
